During the spring our inshore schools of redfish begin to break into smaller schools and feed more aggressively, while larger redfish make their way to the harbor. We target redfish in the harbor and off the beach during this time of the year near deep drop offs and structure on the bottom with heavier tackle …
Due to our mild winter and looking at the past reports, this year we are expecting the dolphin run to begin as early as April. It is not uncommon to go out and catch a cooler full of gaffer size dolphin during this time of year.
Just because it’s cold doesn’t mean the blue-water bite isn’t good. The Wahoo have been thick in our offshore waters of Charleston. There are also big numbers of Blackfin Tuna off our coast. Call us before it warms up to book a trip and get in on some offshore action!
Inshore fishing in the Lowcountry has been great this week, the redfish can still be found in big schools in the waters of Charleston. We lost count of how many we got on artificials! It’s a great time to book a charter and see what our shallow water fishery has to offer.
